Meet the founder
Michael Canete
Founder & CEO, Ticker-Terminal
With nearly 15 years of personal investing experience, Michael Canete has developed a deep passion for the stock market, financial research, and identifying long-term investment opportunities. After years of navigating complex financial data and time-consuming research, he founded Ticker-Terminal to make smarter investing tools more accessible.
By combining artificial intelligence with real market data and transparent analysis, Michael’s mission is to empower everyday investors to research with greater clarity, confidence, and efficiency.
Why I created Ticker-Terminal
Since 2012, I've been passionate about investing, studying companies, understanding financial markets, and finding opportunities to make smarter financial decisions.
Throughout that journey, one challenge consistently stood out: conducting quality stock research required significant time and effort. Financial statements, company earnings, market data, industry developments, and investment analysis were scattered across numerous platforms.
As artificial intelligence advanced, I recognized an opportunity to bring these essential research tools together into one streamlined experience. That vision became Ticker-Terminal.
I built Ticker-Terminal to simplify the investment research process by combining AI-powered analysis, real financial information, transparent data sources, and powerful analytical tools.
My goal is not to tell investors what stocks to buy or promise market-beating returns. My goal is to give everyday investors access to better research tools, clearer information, and the ability to make more informed investment decisions.
I believe sophisticated investment research should be accessible, understandable, and efficient.
Our philosophy
1. Transparency
Show users the financial information and assumptions supporting research conclusions.
2. Accessibility
Make complex investment research easier for everyday investors to understand.
3. Efficiency
Reduce the time required to collect, organize, and interpret financial information.
How our research works
Every report separates what is known from what is estimated and what is interpreted. Forecasts are scenarios, not guaranteed future outcomes.
Historical financial information
Reported revenue, earnings, margins and cash flow from past periods. These are facts about what already happened.
Company filings & earnings reports
Quarterly and annual figures come from financial data providers, with SEC EDGAR filings used as a fallback for US-listed companies.
Market data & estimates
Prices, trading data and analyst estimates come from third-party providers. Prices may be delayed and estimates are other people's expectations, not facts.
AI-generated analysis
AI summarizes and interprets the data above. It is a reading of the numbers, not new information — and it can be wrong.
Bull, Base & Bear forecasts
Three scenarios built from stated assumptions about growth and valuation. They show a range of possible outcomes — they are not predictions or guarantees.
Assumptions, limitations & uncertainty
When key inputs are missing, we show "Insufficient Data" instead of a rating, and risk as "Not Determined" rather than guessing. Missing values are never filled with zeros.
Data sources
Stock prices and price history come from Polygon (charts, index and ticker snapshots), Finnhub and Financial Modeling Prep quotes, with Alpha Vantage as a backup. Company profiles, key metrics and earnings come from Finnhub and Financial Modeling Prep. Quarterly and annual financial statements come from Financial Modeling Prep, with SEC EDGAR company filings used for US-listed companies when provider data is incomplete. News comes from Finnhub and links to the original publisher with a publish time. Not every figure is real-time — prices can be delayed and provider data can be incomplete, which is why reports show when data is missing rather than hiding it.
